When the location of the Gigafactory Grünheide near Berlin was chosen, there was great joy in the region that Tesla would create many jobs. However, Tesla is not only important for the labor market of skilled workers in the region, but also for trainees or young people who are to do dual studies. Tesla as a brand in particular is very important to many young people. This is also reflected in the current numbers of trainees and dual students.
According to Tesla, 17 professions are trained in the Gigafactory Grünheide and 8 additional dual courses are offered. According to the US electric car manufacturer, around 120 young people started their apprenticeship or dual studies in the municipality of Grünheide in this training year 2022. As early as 2021, before production ramped up, five trainees should have started an apprenticeship at the Gigafactory Grünheide, three for warehouse logistics and two for IT. In addition, two students came as part of a dual course of study.
According to current plans, Tesla wants to produce around 500,000 electric cars a year in its German factory with 12,000 employees. Production of the Tesla Model Y is currently expanding. In addition, the production of own battery cells is to be started in Grünheide. The Tesla Model 3 will probably also be built in Grünheide later.
Tesla wants to present itself to the region on September 11th. In Hangelsberg near Grünheide, according to the company, citizens can then obtain information at stands or take test drives.
