New Tesla Features: Tire Fill Assist & Routing Improvements

Tesla surprises again with innovative features - this time with two small but clever features that aim to make the driving experience even more comfortable. In the upcoming software version 2025.8, the "Tire Fill Assist" and improved routing options are planned. These extensions were discovered by our Tesla hacker @greentheonly in the production version of the software and promise to make the everyday life of Tesla drivers easier.

Tire Fill Assist – More comfort when inflating tires

The first upcoming addition is the so-called "Tire Fill Assist". Tesla already uses intelligent tire pressure sensors (TPMS) and Smart Tire Treat Sensors that collect data via Bluetooth and transmit it to the vehicle. However, until now, you either had to use a separate pressure gauge or go into the vehicle to read the current tire pressure.

  • Functionality:
The Tire Fill Assist could be available as an option in the service area of the vehicle. The function would display the data collected by the TPMS sensors in real-time and provide the driver with acoustic feedback through the speakers once the desired tire pressure is reached.

  • Benefits:
This real-time monitoring greatly facilitates the inflating of tires and ensures more safety and comfort, especially if you frequently drive long distances or travel in remote areas.

Routing Improvements: Lower Supercharger Costs

In addition to the Tire Fill Assist, Tesla is also planning improvements in navigation and route planning:

  • Prioritize lower costs:
A new routing option could allow routes to be selected based on cheaper Supercharger prices. Due to variable pricing at Supercharger stations, which fluctuate depending on the time of day, drivers can select Superchargers in less busy, more cost-effective areas via a "View Lower Cost Charging" option.

  • Benefit for the driver:
This option helps save costs when the primary focus is on cheap charging rather than the fastest route. Similar features have already been introduced in China, and Tesla is apparently preparing to expand these options to other regions as well.

Conclusion

These two new features once again show that Tesla is continuously working to improve the driving experience – whether it's the comfortable inflation of the tires or the intelligent route planning that takes cost optimization into account. While the features are not yet activated, it is expected that they will be available to all Tesla owners in the near future, either in the 2025.8 update or the upcoming Spring Update.

Stay tuned for the updates and feel free to share with us in the forums which feature is most interesting to you and how you would use it!
