Giga Texas celebrates 400,000. Model Y – Roof display sets milestone

Giga Texas has reached an impressive production milestone: The plant has produced its 400,000th Model Y! Instead of a formal announcement on X, Tesla opted for a creative action – dozens of red Model Ys were arranged on the roof of the parking structure, forming the inscription "400K". Local drone pilot Joe Tegtmeyer captured this unusual moment in a spectacular video.

Insight into Giga Texas

Giga Texas, which was inaugurated on April 7, 2022, with the spectacular "Cyber Rodeo" event, has since developed into an important production site for Tesla. Initially, the Model Y was mainly manufactured, while later the production of the Cybertruck was also taken up. For the future, Tesla plans to produce more affordable models and the Cybercab at this site.

Production Milestones at a Glance

Giga Texas has continuously achieved impressive production numbers in recent years:

  • April 2022: Official opening with "Cyber Rodeo"

  • June 2022: Production rate of 1,000 Model Y per week reached

  • September 2022: Production of the 10,000th Model Y

  • April 2023: New record of 4,000 Model Y in one week

  • May 2023: Production rate increased to 5,000 Model Y per week (approx. 250,000 units per year)

  • June 2024: Construction of the 50 millionth 4680 cells

With the current milestone of 400,000 Model Y in production, it is evident that Tesla has successfully caught up with its production backlog from earlier times and holds a strong position in the electric vehicle industry.

Comparison with Giga Berlin

While Giga Texas recently celebrated the 400,000th milestone, Giga Berlin reached its 500,000th Model Y less than two weeks earlier. Both plants impressively demonstrate Tesla's global production expansion – each site with its own capacities and challenges. Giga Texas, currently with a capacity of about 250,000 units per year, proves that continuous innovation and restructuring lead to growth in the long term.

Outlook

With the impressive production successes of Giga Texas, Tesla looks optimistically to the future. The milestone of 400,000 Model Y is not only a symbol of the factory's efficiency and innovative strength, but also a sign that Tesla has successfully optimized its production lines. These successes form the basis for further expansions and new models that are to be launched on the market in the near future.

Experience for yourself how Tesla shapes its future – from innovative production methods to creative actions that underscore the spirit of the brand.
