Early demolition: Explosive ordnance recovery on Tesla-plant in Grünheide

The planned salvage of explosive ordnance at the Tesla-plant in Grünheide came to an unexpected end. Experts had suspected a Wehrmacht suitcase containing dangerous substances in the ground, but found no threatening materials. The exclusion zone was lifted immediately and no further closures were imposed.

In recent weeks, defusing of World War II bombs on the expansion area of the Tesla-plant had caused a stir. The current search was unexpectedly unspectacular. Instead of dangerous chemicals, the discovery was unsuccessful, which ended the planned operation prematurely and lifted the lockdown measures.

No danger at the Tesla-site

The suitcase turned out to be harmless, and the Tesla-plant can continue to operate without interruption. The protest camp of the Tesla-opponents is also spared further measures, as all the announced closures are canceled.
