Impressive end to the year for Tesla in China
Tesla sets new standards in China: In the week from December 2 to 8, 2024 21,900 vehicles were insured - one of the highest weekly figures in the last three years. Only 700 units separate Tesla from its previous annual record. This result confirms the company's strong position on the Chinese market and underlines the growing demand for electric vehicles.
Model Y dominates the figures
Of the 21,900 units insured 16,760 vehicles to the Tesla Model Y. This confirms the electric SUV's status as a bestseller in China. Reasons for the popularity of the Model Y:

Comparison with previous weeks and years
The current week not only surpasses the 18,600 units of the previous week, but also the period from October 28 to November 3, in which 17,500 vehicles were insured.
A look back shows the rapid increase:
- 2023: 15,400 insured units in the same week.
- 2022: 12,977 units - significant growth over the years.
The previous annual high of 22,600 insured units was reached at the end of September. However, the figures from December show that Tesla that the year could end on a high.

On the way to a record quarter
Tesla aims to achieve record fourth quarter 515,000 vehicles worldwide in the fourth quarter - a new record that would surpass the previous high of 485,000 vehicles from Q4 2023. If this target is achieved, the Tesla 2024 in total over 1.8 million vehicles and thus set another milestone.
