The car rental company Hertz is causing a stir with an unusual offer: Customers who currently rent an electric car can buy their vehicle at particularly attractive prices. Bargain prices for rental car buyers
A Reddit user recently reported that he was offered a Tesla Model 3 from 2023 with less than 30,000 kilometers for just 17,913 dollars (around 17,225 euros) was offered. Similarly attractive deals are also available for other models:
- Chevrolet Bolt (2023): Purchase price 18,442 dollars (approx. 17,733 euros)
- Polestar 2: Purchase price 28,500 dollars (approx. 27,405 euros)
All vehicles on offer come with a limited twelve-month powertrain warranty and a seven-day right of return sold.
Why does Hertz sell so many electric cars?
Behind this sales strategy is a major realignment of the company. Hertz had announced ambitious plans in 2021 to sell 100,000 Tesla Model 3 ordered to electrify its fleet. But the reality turned out to be more difficult than expected:
