Record consumption: Tesla Supercharger network in North America delivers top performance
Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Tesla's Supercharger network in the USA and Canada set an impressive record. On Saturday, November 30, 2024, a total of 12 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity was provided in just 24 hours. This is equivalent to charging over 300.000 Tesla-vehiclesbased on an average battery capacity of 60 kWh and a charging range of 20 % to 80 %.
What does this milestone mean?
This record shows how rapidly the Tesla Supercharger network has grown in recent years:
- In 2019, the network's average daily consumption was 2.4 GWh - today it has reached six times that amount.
- In the third quarter of 2024, the global Supercharger network delivered 1.4 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity, which corresponds to a daily average of 15 to 16 GWh.
With 12 GWh in North America alone Tesla, that the region plays a central role in e-mobility.
Yes! 12 GWh on Saturday 11/30 on the North American network.

Reliability at the highest level
Another highlight of the record is the high reliability of the Tesla Supercharger network. Despite the enormous rush during the holidays, there were no significant outages:
- The uptime of the network is impressive 99,95 %which Tesla a clear advantage over the competition.
- The efficient handling of charging processes makes the network one of the most reliable infrastructures for electric vehicles in the world.
Last month we had over 2 million Supercharger sessions, totalling 72 GWh of energy.

That could power:
- Hawaii for three days
- the Republic of Ireland for a day
- playing 'You're Beautiful' on repeat from every device in your house because Karen just left you
How did the record become possible?
Continuous investment in the Supercharger network has helped to achieve this milestone:
- Expansion of charging points: More and more Supercharger locations are being built to meet the increasing demand.
- Technological advancement: With charging capacities of up to 250 kW enables Tesla fast and efficient charging.
- Network integration: Tesla-Vehicles can identify locations with free charging stations in real time, which further optimizes usage.
Outlook: The future of Tesla Supercharger network
With the continuous expansion of the network and the integration of CCS charging standards for non-Superchargers, theTesla-vehicles, the Supercharger network will become even more relevant for electromobility. Tesla-Drivers can be sure that they will continue to benefit from the leading charging infrastructure in the future.
