Tesla Drastically reduces wrap prices: new colors and more locations

Tesla has revamped its wrap program, making it more affordable and accessible. Instead of the expensive Paint Protection Film (PPF) wraps, it now offers Tesla now offers more affordable vinyl wraps. With significantly lowered prices, new colors and additional locations, this update could expand wrap options for Tesla-owners.

What's new in the Tesla Wrap program?

Conversion from PPF to vinyl

The original wrap program relied on PPF wrapswhich, in addition to changing the color, also offered protection for the paint. Tesla has now switched to vinyl wraps which offer less protection but are cheaper and quicker to apply.

  • Advantage: Significantly lower costs for customers
  • Disadvantage: Less paint protection compared to PPF

New prices

The prices for the wrap program have been drastically reduced:

  • Cybertruck4,500 $ (previously 8,000 $)
  • Model 3 and Model Y4,000 $ (previously 6,500 $)
  • Model S and Model XWraps currently not available

This reduction makes the wrap option directly available at Tesla significantly more competitive compared to third-party providers.

Reduced color palette

Tesla now offers eight colors per model. While the Model 3 and the Model Y have their own color palette, the Cybertruck a unique color spectrum. Popular options such as Matte Black remain the same, but Satin White is no longer available.

Expansion of locations and new flexibility

Additional locations

The wrap program was initially limited to four locations in California and Texas. Now it has Tesla a new location in Seattle, Washington to make the service available to more customers.

Wraps for vehicles already delivered

Another milestone: Tesla now also offers the program for vehicles that have already been delivered. This means that not only new, but also already used Model 3, Model Y and Cybertrucks can be wrapped. Tesla does not currently charge any additional fees for preparing the vehicle surface, which is common with third-party providers.

Why Tesla now makes wraps more attractive

The switch from PPF to vinyl makes the wrap program more affordable and appeals to a broader target group. At the same time Tesla as a direct competitor to third-party suppliers, utilizing the expertise of the Tesla-technicians remains a clear advantage. Despite the price reduction Tesla-Wraps remains slightly more expensive than independent providers, but offers the advantage of seamless integration into the Tesla-ecosystem.
