Tesla could soon integrate Apple Music into their vehicles.

Once again there is interesting news that a new music app will find its way into the Tesla models. This is the well-known and popular provider Apple Music. User Aaron Cash shared photos of Teslas from an exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles via Twitter, which opened on November 20, 2022. Aaron found that Apple Music was integrated into one of the Tesla vehicles.

In the exhibition, Tesla built the interior of the new Model S, complete with center console, yoke steering wheel and infotainment system, allowing visitors to fully test the new interior and its features. The infotainment system was running a development version of the Tesla operating system with version number 2022.40.50 and this is where Apple Music was found.

Tesla is notorious for leaving Easter eggs and hints of upcoming features in its software, and running this vehicle with a developer version using Apple Music seems to have been on purpose. There was early speculation that Apple Music was coming when an icon was spotted during the Zoom conference where they are showcasing their video conference in Teslas.

Tesla will integrate Apple Music into its music player instead of running its own Apple Music app, which has both positive and negative implications. On the plus side, the UI will be consistent and similar to Tesla's other music offerings, and is expected to support Tesla's voice controls as well. However, this could mean that not all Apple Music features are available. The new function will probably come with the well-known and annual Christmas update.
