New Tesla-features bring Christmas spirit into the vehicle
The Holiday Updates 2024 from Tesla provide festive surprises and improved functionalities. In addition to major innovations such as Apple Watch support, Cross traffic alerts and Weather Overlays there are smaller highlights that many Tesla-drivers. These include the integration of ambient lighting in Easter Eggs such as Rainbow Road and Santa Mode as well as an update for SteamOS.
Ambient lighting for more atmosphere in your Tesla
The new Tesla-models such as the 2024+ Model 3 and the Cybertruck come with ambient lighting, which is now also used in Easter Eggs:
Rainbow Road
Under Apps > ToyBox > Rainbow Road you can download the Ambient Lighting feature. During the animation, the lighting in the vehicle changes in bright rainbow colors - a tribute to the famous course from Mario Kart.

Santa Mode
Just in time for the Christmas season Tesla the Santa Mode in a festive mood. If you activate the ambient lighting in Apps > ToyBox > Santa Modethe lighting changes between red, green and white - to match the Christmas colors.

The feature has also been extended to other Easter Eggs. For example, the lighting in the Romance Mode orange to create an even cozier atmosphere.
SteamOS update: Gaming for Model S and Model X
Tesla also brings a SteamOS update for the Model S and Model Xthat support gaming on the Steam platform. The update to version 3.6 promises:
- Performance improvements
- Extended compatibility for games
- More stable performance
This update makes Tesla-vehicles into mobile gaming hubs and could enable further exciting features in the future.
