After the tough three-week lockdown, Tesla can start production in Shanghai. Tesla is one of the first important companies that can take this step. A total of 666 companies are on the government's so-called "white list," according to reports. These include the automobile manufacturers Volkswagen and Saic Motor. However, some important measures must be observed in order to resume production. Every employee has to do a PCR test and be negative for 7 days. In the near future, these employees will not only have to work there, they will also have to live there at the same time. This is to ensure that nobody can get infected with the corona virus, bring it into the plant and infect colleagues. For the time being, Tesla will produce vehicles in 1-shift operation. Production is then to be gradually ramped up. Tesla still has materials for production on site for about 2.5 weeks. The supply chain for new parts is also suffering from the strict Corona policy and does not work without interruption.
