On October 31, Tesla CEO Elon Musk appeared on the popular podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience" and talked about the new Tesla Cybertruck, among other things, and mentioned the Cybertruck's impressive features. During the podcast, the conversation quickly turned to the Cybertruck's bulletproof features. Musk explained that the vehicle is equipped with bulletproof steel plates arranged in a unique geometric design. He even mentioned the possibility of upgrading to bulletproof glass, which would further enhance the Cybertruck's protective properties.
However, the podcast's attention was caught in an unusual way when Joe Rogan, the show's host, issued a bold challenge. He suggested putting the Cybertruck's seemingly robust bodywork to the test by firing an arrow at the vehicle. Musk responded calmly and declared that it would work. The two even made a bet: Musk bet a dollar that the dart would not penetrate the bulletproof bodywork.
The result of the test was impressive. The viral video that Ian Miles Cheong published on X shows Joe Rogan firing the dart at close range at the Cybertruck's stainless steel body. Surprisingly, the arrow does not penetrate the surface, but only leaves a small dent. The arrowhead, on the other hand, was completely destroyed. During the test, Elon Musk enjoyed a cigar in the background, visibly relaxed.
In addition to the bulletproof properties, Musk was also impressed by the Cybertruck's so-called "Beast Mode". This mode enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0-96 km/h) in an impressive 2.9 to 6.5 seconds, depending on the configuration selected. In addition, the Cybertruck has an amazing range of 250 to 500 miles (400 to 800 km).
