Tesla is setting a new standard for charging infrastructure with its V4 Superchargers. After the first stations were opened in the Netherlands in 2023, it will be China's turn in 2025. What makes the V4 Supercharger special?
The V4 Supercharger from Tesla offer a charging capacity of up to 500 kW, provided they are combined with a V4 generation control cabinet. This enables shorter charging times and greater efficiency. Tesla continues to invest in charging infrastructure
China plays a central role in Tesla's global strategy. Of the 60,000 Tesla-Superchargers worldwide, 20% are located in China, i.e. around 11,500 charging points. The Supercharger factory in Shanghai, which will open in 2021, produces up to 10,000 charging units per year, but so far only from the predecessor model V3. This figure is likely to increase further with the rollout of the V4 generation.
