Another world war bomb was found near the Tesla-plant in Grünheide (Oder-Spree) and has to be detonated on Wednesday.
This again leads to evacuations and traffic restrictions in the surrounding area.
The bomb, which was discovered last week, weighs 250 kilograms and is not transportable. It is located in a wooded area near the plant and requires the establishment of a restricted area from 6 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
This exclusion zone also includes the protest camp of Tesla-opponents, who were ordered by the police to vacate the site by midday on Tuesday. The 30 or so activists left the camp and criticized the short-notice evacuation and lack of alternative options.
The bomb is to be detonated from 7 a.m. on Wednesday. During this time, the state roads 23 and 38 and the Fangschleuse train station will be closed. Bus services in the region will also be suspended.
The Tesla-According to the company, production will not be affected by the blasting. Only a small part of the plant site, which is used for logistics and waste treatment, is in the exclusion zone. The production buildings themselves are not affected.
Employees coming from Frankfurt (Oder) can use the shuttle bus from Erkner train station to the factory, which will take an alternative route during this period.
The search for explosive ordnance in the vicinity of the Tesla-plant has been underway since the construction of the Freienbrink Nord service and logistics center. The first World War II bomb had to be defused in the area at the end of June.
It is unclear when the closures and restrictions in connection with the bomb detonation on Wednesday can be completely lifted.
Conclusion: The renewed discovery of a world war bomb at Tesla in Grünheide leads to renewed disruption for residents and commuters. The Tesla-production should not be affected, however.
