Tesla Introduces Autopark for Cybertruck owners on a broader scale

Tesla is preparing to extend the Autopark feature to a wider group of Cybertruck owners. While the feature was initially only available to selected testers, all customers who have purchased the Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised package will soon be able to benefit from it.

What is Autopark and how does it work?
Autopark makes it possible to Tesla-drivers to perform automatic parking maneuvers, both in parallel and perpendicular parking spaces. The technology uses Tesla Vision, the company's camera-based system, to recognize parking spaces. Once the driver stops next to a suitable space, they can select one of the highlighted options on the screen to allow the vehicle to park itself. Although Autopark is a tremendous help, emphasizes Tesla, that drivers must always remain alert and ready to take control.

Availability of the Autopark update
According to reports from Teslascope, software version 2024.32.5.3 has been spotted on only four Cybertrucks so far. However, the update will be rolled out more widely soon, especially for those who have purchased or subscribed to the FSD package.

Parking assistance and future developments
Interestingly Tesla has not yet fully introduced Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised for the Cybertruck. Instead, the company is initially focusing on the introduction of parking assistance functions. However, the full implementation of FSD Supervised for the Cybertruck is expected soon, with Tesla has already indicated a precise timetable for the rollout.

In addition to the Autopark feature Tesla is also introducing the new "Actually Smart Summon" (ASS). This long-awaited feature allows drivers to summon their vehicle out of a parking space by pressing the Tesla-app on their smartphone. Initial test reports on the ASS feature are already showing impressive results in terms of seamlessly pulling the vehicle out.

Tesla Vision: The key to autonomous functions
The new features like Autopark and ASS are part of Tesla's larger vision to create fully autonomous vehicles. These technologies are based on Tesla Vision, an advanced camera-based system that can steer vehicles without the use of radar or lidar. With the gradual introduction of features such as Autopark and ASS Tesla continues to demonstrate its leadership in the development of autonomous driving technologies.

What should Cybertruck owners do?
Cybertruck owners using the FSD Supervised package should look out for a software update in the coming days. The update will make it possible to take full advantage of the new Autopark functions. Tesla has already confirmed that further updates will follow that will further improve the Cybertruck's autonomous functions.
