What can we expect from today's second Tesla AI Day?

As already announced, the second Tesla AI Day will take place today. This Friday, Tesla boss Elon Musk will again give investors an exciting look into the future. Last year, at the first AI Day, Elon Musk was able to show impressively where the journey should go. There the computer scientist Andrej Karpathy (former head of the AI department) showed how Tesla develops self-driving car systems. Elon Musk unveiled a robot last year that he believes could eventually be more important than the auto business. Tesla is currently developing a high-end computer system to build a "neural network" that processes information from 8 optical cameras. The aim is to build a vehicle that can safely drive itself - without human intervention.

On the second AI Day, investors will likely receive an update of Tesla's most advanced software, called Full Self-Driving. It is quite possible that there could even be first test drives in this area. In the future, Tesla plans to build a self-driving car through software development, the so-called Robotaxi. Musk believes this will create value for Tesla owners and shareholders. Full self-driving is set to become one of Tesla's top revenue streams, Musk said in January. According to some analysts, the so-called Robotaxi could become an important part of the "Tesla story" in the next 10 years. The human robot developed by Tesla called Optimus could also play a major role. This was introduced last year. Whether we can expect a first real Optimus robot remains to be seen.

The second AI Day will start at 5 p.m. California time (2 a.m. German time). The event is scheduled to last approximately 6 hours. A live broadcast is scheduled to take place and is expected to be available on the Tesla website and Tesla YouTube channel. Own photo and video recordings should be prohibited.
