Tesla has announced plans to erect a Cybertruck-inspired bear statue in front of its Global Engineering Headquarters in Palo Alto, California. The so-called "CyberBear" will be a tribute to the state where Tesla was founded and which proudly bears a bear on its flag.
Homage to California and Tesla
Tesla was founded in California in 2003 and was headquartered there until 2021, when the company moved to Texas. Despite the change of location, California remains Tesla important, as both the Fremont factory and the Global Engineering Headquarters are still located there.
The "CyberBear" will be erected directly in front of the engineering headquarters in Palo Alto and is a stylized, low-poly sculpture of a Californian grizzly bear. The statue is intended to symbolize the strength and resilience that Tesla associated with its design and California. The plan is to make the statue out of metal and give it a brushed, aged finish.
Design details and inspiration
The bear statue will be installed on a concrete platform, which will be fitted with RGB lights to highlight the "CyberBear". Interestingly enough Tesla use the same stainless steel material for this statue as for the Cybertruck, which would make the aesthetic even more futuristic.
This new sculpture is reminiscent of the "CyberOwl" design used to symbolize the Cybertruck's Sentry Mode. While the project is still in the planning phase, it once again shows Tesla's creativity and connection to California.
