This year, there is a very important change in the BAFA funding for electric vehicles, because from September 1, 2023, only private individuals can apply to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) for funding for the environmental bonus. For some time, there has been speculation about how the various manufacturers will then deal with business customers, as they play an important role for most manufacturers. Special discounts for business customers play a major role. Tesla is already taking a step towards business customers and is offering business customers a further premium called "Tesla Innovation Premium" in the amount of 2,250 euros net in addition to the manufacturer share of the German electric car purchase premium "Umweltbonus" until August 31, 2023. This increases the electromobility incentive for all models of the Model 3 and Model Y to up to 9,750 euros. The scheme applies to orders placed from May 15 with delivery by August 31, 2023.
A spokesperson confirmed that the name "innovation premium" indicates that it is an exclusive offer from Tesla in Germany. Currently, only B2B customers such as leasing companies and bulk buyers can benefit by using a dedicated portal instead of the public web configurator. In this portal, the additional B2B discount was already pointed out on Monday. Tesla emphasizes the importance of the electrification of commercial fleets in Europe for a sustainable energy future. Customers will have access to more than 10,000 Supercharger fast-charging stations at over 1,000 locations along major transport routes across Europe with the vehicles on offer.
The net price for the Tesla Model 3 for fleet customers currently starts at 33,035 euros, while the Model Y for B2B customers is available from 35,473 euros. These prices already include the manufacturer's share of the environmental bonus as well as the additional "Tesla Innovation Premium" of 2,250 euros plus provision costs.
