Tesla Gigafactroy Grünheide reaches next milestone - 5000 Tesla per week!

Just under a year after the official opening of the Tesla Gigafactory Berlin, it reaches a new milestone. After Tesla last in February the milestone of 4000 produced Model Y in a week reported, now a month the next milestone. On March 25, 2023, Tesla announced on Twitter that the "Gigafactory Berlin" one year after the delivery of the first Model Y now produces 5000 electric cars per week. At current production levels, this translates to about 250,000 electric cars over the course of a year. According to Tesla boss Elon Musk, from this figure onwards one can speak of "mass production".

In the meantime, Tesla is reportedly working three shifts at its German production facility. This is crucial for the 5000 electric cars per week as of now and future further increases in production. The target for the current expansion stage is 500,000 vehicles per year. This is to be achieved with the Tesla currently built there. Model Y and the later Model 3 to be achieved. This should be made possible with around 12,000 employees, up from 10,000 in March. In the next expansion stage, up to one million electric cars are to be produced in Grünheide after an expansion.
