The Tesla Model Y "Juniper" facelift brings a fresh design, more range and technical innovations. While sales will initially start in Asia Tesla-fans in Germany are eagerly awaiting the start of production in Grünheide.
Design updates: more than just new lights
The Model Y Juniper has a revised exterior that is strongly reminiscent of the Cybertruck truck. Striking changes include:
- New LED lights at the front and rear, including a continuous light strip.

Production in Grünheide: when will it start?
The facelift model will be produced entirely in gigacasting process whereby the rear section is manufactured from a single aluminum part. This innovation could not only reduce production costs, but also insurance classes influence. When exactly the Juniper facelift will be available in the Tesla-Grünheide plant plant in Brandenburg remains unclear, however. So far Tesla has not published any official information on the start of production or sales in Europe.
Conclusion: an upgrade with potential
The Tesla Model Y Juniper offers subtle but effective improvements in terms of both design and efficiency. While Asian markets will be able to enjoy the new model as early as March 2025, German customers will have to be patient. The start of production in Grünheide is eagerly awaited and is likely to be a milestone for the European market.
