As can be seen in a tweet, The Kilowatts were once again in the right place at the right time and were able to take photos of the latest Tesla Model S and Model X models from the Gigafactory Fremont with what appears to be the current HW4 without ultrasonic sensors and other upgrades.
The most interesting discovery by The Kilowatts was new Autopilot cameras in the photographed Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles without ultrasonic sensors. These vehicles are rumored to contain the next version of Tesla's Autopilot hardware, which is rumored to be version 4.0, previously leaked by Greentheonly. In the images, it is clear that the new cameras have a much larger lens and, most importantly, the side cameras get a completely new position in the designated side camera views and look further away from the vehicle. In the same move, the side turn signals above the cameras have been reduced in size somewhat. The side cameras in the two B-pillars also have an improved lens and housing. The arrangement of the front cameras and the rear camera has also been changed and the housing has also grown. In the course of this, the last tweet from Teslascope, where it was about more cameras in the headlights, could apparently now be debunked.
Moreover, the photographed Tesla Model S and Model X showed further upgrades in the equipment. The Kilowatts was additionally able to photograph the new red brake calipers in the Model S/X, which don't appear to have received larger brakes, just enlarged caliper covers in red. Additionally, the photographed models show new Tesla lettering in chrome and black on the tailgate and the new optional round steering wheel instead of the new yoke steering wheel.
