The 4th quarter and thus also the fiscal year 2022 has barely ended, Tesla publishes the first important production and delivery figures. Especially in the last weeks of 2022, Tesla gives everything to deliver its produced vehicles to buyers by all possible means. Discounts, free miles at the Supercharger and short-term fast deliveries lured Tesla buyers. In Q4, Tesla produced nearly 440,000 vehicles. Of those, about 405,000 cars were delivered. In total, well over one million of the brand's electric cars were produced and delivered in 2022.
Tesla built 20,613 units of the Model S and the Model X SUV in the last quarter of last year, and 17,147 units of the luxury class series were delivered. Of the very popular Model 3 and Model Y 419,088 units rolled off the production line, with 388,131 vehicles delivered. The bottom line for Tesla in the fourth quarter of the year was 439,701 electric cars produced and 405,278 delivered. In the previous quarter, the figure was 365,923 vehicles produced and 343,830 delivered.
For the full year 2022, Tesla produced 71,177 Model S and Model X, and 66,705 units of the two series were handed over. At Model 3 and the Model Y model, the company achieved 1,298,434 vehicles manufactured and 1,247,146 vehicles delivered. This adds up to a production of 1,369,611 electric cars and 1,313,851 deliveries for 2022. While this is a thoroughly positive development, it is less than forecast for many shareholders.
Precise details on the business results in the fourth quarter of 2022 and the full year 2022 with figures on, among other things, sales and profit/loss, as well as an outlook on the expected development in the new year, Tesla is expected to announce on 01 March 2023. This is clear from a recent Twitter message.
