Tesla has stopped the order option for the cheapest version of the cybertruck on its website. The electric pick-up, which was originally announced as an affordable option in the manufacturer's portfolio, can no longer be ordered. This could disappoint potential buyers who have hoped for the cheapest variant.
Three versions, one deleted
At the presentation of the cyber truck in November 2023 Tesla three variants of the vehicle announced. The cheapest version with a range of 250 miles (approx. 402 km) and a price of $ 61,000 (approx. 55,900 euros) should be available from 2025. This version can no longer be ordered on the website, which indicates that Tesla retires its plans for the basic version.
For customers who are willing to pay more, two other versions are still available. The all -wheel drive version with two engines and a range of 318 miles (approx. 512 km) costs $ 99,990 and is almost immediately available. The top variant, the three-engine cyberbeast, is offered for $ 119,990, but delivery is only expected from October.
High prices, high expectations
The cyberruck, which finally came onto the market after years of delay and a challenging production start, has attracted a lot of attention with its futuristic design and stainless steel body. TeslaCEO Elon Musk originally announced that the truck would cost around $ 40,000 and offer a range of 500 miles (approx. 805 km). However, these expectations were not met, which led to a certain disappointment with potential buyers.
Sold in July Tesla Almost 4800 units of the more expensive versions of the cyber truck, which was the best month of sales for the model. The Cybertruck is the best -selling vehicle in the USA with a price of over $ 100,000, according to an analysis of Cox Automotive.
A look into the future
The demand for the cybertruck is still being observed closely, especially by Tesla-investors and fans. Elon Musk plans to produce 200,000 units of cybertruck annually, but it remains to be seen whether this is realistic with the current prices and the market situation. Analysts like Sam Abuelsamide from Guidehouse Insights emphasize that demand is not as high as expected, especially for the more expensive versions of the vehicle.
Tesla is now faced with the challenge of maintaining the interest in cyberruck, while the cheaper version has been removed from the offer. Whether Tesla will offer a more affordable version in the future.
