Since the beginning of this week, there has been insane momentum in Model Y Performance deliveries towards the end of the second quarter. Anyone who knows Tesla knows that Tesla is doing everything it can to deliver the electric cars to customers by any means possible at the end of each quarter. Contrary to some assumptions, what counts is not that the bill is paid, but that the electric cars have to be paid for, registered and delivered to the customer. Only then does this electric car count in the quarter.
With the new Gigafactory Berlin in Grünheide, Tesla is able to load the cars freshly produced from the factory onto trucks and distribute them to the appropriate delivery centers. As already assumed, towards the end of this quarter the German market will be primarily supplied due to the short delivery routes. At the beginning of this week, some customers were called by the respective Service Advisor or informed by e-mail that the Model Y Performance (white or black) they had ordered could still be delivered this month. The only requirement as mentioned above, the Model Y must be paid for, registered and picked up at short notice. Considering that the respective Model Y have not yet been built is a sporting action. A day later the next exciting action, according to some service advisors there should be a vehicle pool of around 150 Model Y Performance, which will be delivered as a kind of Delivery Day in Berlin-Schoenefeld shortly before the end of the second quarter. Also a very spontaneous action, which also requires the willingness of the respective customer to travel.
Up until today, Friday morning, June 24, 2022, almost no one has received a chassis number or an exact delivery date. In addition, the vehicle documents are only available after production and only then can the Model Y Performance be delivered. Especially in cities, customers have to contend with a longer lead time at the registration authorities. So it remains exciting whether and when Tesla will deliver the Model Y Performance.
