This week, Tesla reached the production of five million vehicles across all Gigafactories, an important milestone in Tesla's efforts to steadily increase production over the past few years. On Saturday evening, Tesla proudly announced the completion of its five millionth vehicle and thanked Tesla owners for their continued support. This announcement came just over six months after the company produced its four millionth vehicle. It took Tesla about 12 years to produce the first million!

This news comes at a time when Tesla is launching the redesigned Model 3 Highland to market, with deliveries scheduled to begin in some markets as early as October. In addition, Tesla is about to begin production of the highly anticipated Cybertruck, which some believe could begin its first deliveries next month as well.
Tesla currently produces in four factories, two of which are in the United States, in Fremont, California, and Austin, Texas. Tesla also operates plants in Shanghai, China, and near Berlin, Germany. Tesla also plans to further expand its production capacity in the coming years by building new factories outside the United States. Earlier this year, the company announced plans to build a new factory in the Mexican state of Nuevo León and, according to media reports, filed a letter of intent on Friday to begin construction.
