Tesla is still testing the first near-production vehicles in the depths of winter on snow and ice in New Zealand to test the winter capabilities of its latest electric vehicle. Recently, for example, an observer was able to watch a cyber truck drifting on ice. Of particular interest was how the Tesla's rear-wheel steering worked. The cybertruck is expected to have impressive driving characteristics thanks to rear-wheel steering and active suspension.

Tesla plans to start mass production this quarter and deliver the Cybertruck to the first customers. The Cybertruck is probably the most anticipated electric vehicle to hit the market this year. Last month, Tesla was also spotted bringing a Cybertruck prototype to its winter test site in New Zealand. It is widely believed that this is one of the final steps before Tesla begins production of a new vehicle.
Currently, Tesla has about 1.5 million reservations. Tesla is being closely followed on Cybertruck production to get an idea of when and to what extent the first deliveries will occur. Most recently, there have been many signs that Tesla is nearing volume production, with even some recent pictures from production at the Gigafactory in Texas.
