Semi-trailer truck Tesla Semi at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover

After Tesla was represented in Europe for the first time last year at the IAA international motor show in Munich, where, to the surprise of many, the new Tesla Model 3 "Highland" for the first time worldwide, the Tesla will also be exhibiting at the upcoming IAA for commercial vehicles. At the IAA Mobility in Munich, in addition to Tesla over 50 Chinese companies were mainly represented with electric cars or their components. A similar picture is expected at the IAA Transportation in September: 70 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad, primarily from China. A quarter of the exhibitors are taking part for the first time this year, including Tesla with the Semi.

The IAA, organized by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), was split in 1992 into the IAA for Cars (IAA Mobility) and the IAA for Commercial Vehicles, which has been held in Hanover since then and is called the IAA Transportation.

Presented for the first time in 2017 Tesla Semi was originally due to be produced from 2019, but this has been postponed several times. Started at the end of 2022 Tesla with the first deliveries to PepsiCo. From 2026 Tesla produce 50,000 semi-trucks a year in a new plant in Nevada. It is therefore a good step from TeslaThe VDA reports that there is great interest in sustainable commercial vehicles, including fully electric models such as the Tesla Semi. More electric commercial vehicles are expected at this year's trade fair than two years ago. BYD and Mercedes-Benz Trucks will also be represented at the trade fair in Hanover.
