What information is available about the new software update 2024.2.3? The first release notes from "notateslaapp" give an insight into what is coming and what changes Tesla owners can expect. Here we provide a clear overview of the new functions that will be included in the latest update for models available in Europe.
Reminder to charge at home:
You'll now receive a reminder on your phone to plug in your vehicle when you're parked at home and are less than halfway through your charge limit. To receive this notification, you must set your home location and have previously charged there.
Adaptive high beam:
By detecting other road users and selectively dimming individual pixels of the headlights, the high beam can stay on longer, allowing for better visibility at night.
The function is activated in the vehicle settings under Lighting > Adaptive high beam.
Note: This function is currently only available for the new Model 3 "Highland", others may follow.
More efficient charging (not yet confirmed in Europe):
The vehicle now adapts to the power level of the respective DC charging station. This allows the battery to be preconditioned on the way to the charging station and then charged more efficiently.
Safety improvements:
This update contains important safety corrections and improvements.
Unlock button:
To make unlocking the vehicle easier, Tesla has added a contextual unlock button that appears in certain situations. If the vehicle is locked and someone is in the vehicle, an "Unlock Vehicle" button will now appear when someone attempts to open the vehicle from the outside.
Trips menu design:
Tesla has redesigned the "Trips" menu under "Controls" > "Trips". In the new design, the "Reset" button is located directly next to the trip odometer and no longer at the bottom.
The "Show in driver card" function is now on the right in the same line, so that all trip odometers fit on the screen without scrolling. Each trip odometer is now easier to read at a glance. The details for each trip odometer are now grouped in a darker grey color.
All apps in the menu:
The "All apps" menu [...] now shows all available apps, even if they are docked at the bottom of the screen. Previously, only apps that were not pinned as favorites were displayed.
