Price change and new monthly subscription models for low-cost charging at Ionity. The price reduction affects the Ionity Direct tariff, which has no monthly basic fee. From May 28, the electricity price per kilowatt hour will fall in twelve European countries. In Germany, the price will remain unchanged at 69 cents per kilowatt hour. It will be cheaper in Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Slovakia, among others.
In addition to the previous Passport tariff, which cost 49 cents per kWh and €5.99 per month, there are now the Passport Motion and Passport Power tariffs. Passport Motion still costs 49 cents per kWh and €5.99 per month, with the first month costing just €3.99 at a reduced rate. This tariff is already worthwhile from 30 kilowatt hours.
The new Passport Power tariff costs 39 cents per kWh and €11.99 per month, with the first month also costing just €7.99 at a reduced rate. This tariff is aimed at frequent users who regularly charge with Ionity. You save 30 cents per kWh compared to the Direct tariff and 10 cents compared to the Passport Motion tariff. The higher monthly basic fee is worth it if you charge more than 60 kWh per month at Ionity.
Both new tariffs have flexible terms and can be terminated or changed with one month's notice. For example, the Passport Power tariff can be booked for a vacation and then canceled after four weeks. This flexibility is particularly attractive as the first month is discounted. However, this discount only applies once and does not apply to customers who switch from one Passport model to another. In addition, the principle of the "flying month" applies here, i.e. if you take out a Passport on the 13th of a month, for example, it runs until the 13th of the following month.
