Yesterday it was finally time, the long-awaited first Investor Day 2023 took place at the Gigafactory Texas. At 10 pm our time, the live broadcast on YouTube took place. When Elon Musk took the stage, he started talking about his Master Plan 3 and the future of Tesla. Elon Musk focused on the fundamental goal of being a mass manufacturer and global driver of sustainable mobility and environmentally friendly energy supply in the future.
"I want today to be not just about investors who own Tesla stock, but about everyone who invests in the Earth," CEO Elon Musk said at the start of the event. "Earth can transition to a sustainable economy and will do so in your lifetime." In addition, Elon Musk reiterated his intention to manufacture his electric cars more efficiently in the future. The cost of the group's new generation of vehicles is to be halved. This is to be made possible primarily by innovative production methods. The innovations could reduce the cost of a new generation of cars to around 25,000 US dollars.
In addition to production, Tesla has also promised to further optimize the technology of its electric vehicles and make them more sustainable. This includes a new, less expensive drive unit whose electric motor does not use rare earth metals. Elon Musk announced the construction of a new plant in Mexico near Monterrey. He also emphasized that production will continue to be expanded at existing factories. Elon Musk plans for the group to reach a production volume of 20 million vehicles by 2030. Last year, the figure was around 1.37 million.

In addition, electricity storage is an important point for the future. The information that many had hoped for about smaller electric cars promised by Tesla was not available at the presentation. There was also no mention of the comprehensive updates to the mid-range series that are reportedly in the works. Model 3 and Model Y nothing was revealed.
