The 2024.20 software update brings Tesla a series of improvements that further enhance the driving experience and safety. Here are the most important new features in detail:
Improvements to adaptive headlights
The new adaptive headlights in software version 2024.20 offer even better visibility on the road. They now adapt to bends and continue to shine when you are driving on the highway. This function is available for the New S, 3, New X and Y models. To activate the adaptive headlights, go to the vehicle settings under "Lights > Adaptive headlights". However, the availability of this function in Germany is still unknown.
Autopilot lock
The new "Autopilot Suspension" feature aims to maximize safety and ensure that Autopilot is used responsibly. This feature is available worldwide for the S, 3, X and Y models. In the event of improper use, if the driver or another vehicle user receives five "Autopilot Strikeouts", the Autopilot function will be temporarily disabled. An "Autopilot Strikeout" occurs when the system forcibly disengages the controls due to driver inattention after several audio and visual warnings. Driver-initiated deactivations are not considered improper use.
An "Autopilot Strikeout" will be forgiven for any 7-day period in which no further strikeouts occur. However, if you receive another strikeout, the timer will restart. During the lockout, the autopilot function will remain disabled for approximately one week. Make sure you always keep your hands on the steering wheel and remain attentive. The use of handheld devices during the autopilot function is not permitted.
Beach Buggy Racing 2 - Supercharger Race
With the new feature "Beach Buggy Racing 2 - Supercharger Races" you can Tesla-drivers can put their racing skills to the test. Drive to a Supercharger and take part in special races in Beach Buggy Racing to achieve the fastest lap time on the leaderboard. This feature is available for the S, 3, X, Y and CT models. Availability in Germany is not yet known.
Improvements for hot weather
The 2024.20 update also brings improvements for hot weather conditions. The air conditioning (A/C) now cools the interior faster and ensures greater comfort with less noise. This function is available worldwide for the S, 3, X, Y and CT models.
