Adaptive high beam "Matrix light" now for the pre-facelift Tesla after all Model 3 and Model Y? A current excerpt from a certification for Europe shows that the models mentioned have now apparently also received certification for adaptive high beam. It is important to note that these are the most recently installed headlights that have the Model 3 received with the 2021 refresh. The Model Y was equipped exclusively with these headlights. The certification apparently took place on January 03, 2024. For comparison: The new Tesla Model 3 “Highland" already received this certification on November 08, 2023. It is not yet known with which software update the function will be activated. Should it take a similar amount of time as the Model 3 Highland it could still take up to 3 months. With the latest software update 2024.2, as far as we know at present, only the new Tesla Model 3 will receive this function. In principle, however, this is a good step in the right direction, so that this long-awaited function could finally become a reality soon. It is noteworthy that Tesla could then activate a function free of charge for a whole range of vehicles that is only available ex works for many vehicles from other manufacturers at considerable additional cost and without the option of subsequent activation.
